A 9 hour drive from Delhi

It's an easy 450 km ride from Delhi. Just hop in the car, roll down the windows, and let the mountain breeze ruffle your ears. Once you arrive, we'll be waiting with wagging tails and wet-nose welcomes.

Introduction

Built in 1885, Ghar by the Hills is a restored heritage homestay near Dharamshala. Crafted with stone, mud, and wood, and designed for travellers who want to stay a little longer than “just the weekend.” It’s peaceful, work-friendly, and community-driven. With gardens for slow mornings and balconies that turn “quick breath of fresh air” into a full-blown ritual.

    • 30 Days prior to stay day - 100% Refund, 15 days Prior to stay day - 50% Refund and 50% Credit note, 7 Days Prior to stay day - 75% credit note with 25% charges, between three days to stay - 100% Charges deduction
  • Mention Restaurant/House keeping timings:
    • Breakfast :- 09:00 AM-11:00 AM , Lunch :- 13:00 - 15:00, Dinner :- 20:00 - 22:00
    • Between 10:00 AM - 12:00 Afternoon or 17:00 - 19:00
    • Housekeeping once every two days or on demand
    • Pet Policy: We're all for wagging tails — but here's what we kindly ask:
      • Pet-Friendly Rooms – Please inform us in advance if you’re bringing a pet, so we can allocate a suitable room.
      • Supervision Required – Pets must be supervised at all times. Leaving them alone in the room or common areas is not allowed.
      • Roam Freely, But Respectfully – Well-behaved and non-aggressive pets are welcome to roam freely around the property. We love seeing them enjoy the open space!
      • Furniture Access – Your pets are welcome on beds and furniture. We just ask pet parents to ensure they don’t soil the space, and to remove fur or use covers when possible.
      • Clean-Up Duty – Pet parents are responsible for cleaning up after their pets, both indoors and outdoors.
      • Noise Control – Excessive barking or disruptive behaviour may disturb other guests; please help us maintain our peaceful vibe.
      • Bonfire & Dining Areas – Pets are not allowed near the bonfire or inside dining areas during meal hours.
      • Damage or Deep Cleaning – Any damage or extra cleaning required due to your pet may result in additional charges.
      • One Paw-fect Pet Per Room (Preferably) – We allow one pet per room. Additional pets are welcome for an extra charge and must be approved in advance.
      • Local Wildlife Awareness – Our surroundings are home to birds, insects, and animals. Please keep your pet safe and avoid disturbing local wildlife.
