As per Law, all guests must submit a Photo ID with address
( Driving License, Adhar Card, Passport ). We would also need proof of age for children between 5 to 10 years travelling with you.

Under 6 hours from Delhi, halfway between Dehradun and Mussoorie in a charming valley with green hills around is your piece of heaven – A Dog’s Story, Mussoorie Foothills ! Adding to the charm are natural water bodies for you and your pet to swim in and a small stream flowing nearby. With 3 acres of land with a boundary, the common open spaces gives you and your pet just the freedom you came looking for ( we do not have individual gated lawns for each room).
Accommodation
We offer three independent rooms, built in ‘pahadi’ style with slanting roofs, overlooking the outdoor greens. Each comes with it’s sit out and are aptly named after forests of the region. None of our rooms have television.
Deodar
Deodar is a large 500 sq. ft. room, ideal for those travelling with children. This comes with one double bed, a dining and living area, an attached large bathroom with hot and cold water and its veranda sit out. Tea/coffee maker is also provided.

A Dog’s Story is located halfway between Dehradun and Mussoorie, on the Kimadi – Lambidhar - Mussoorie highway. We are near the Lambidhar Mines area (do not go into Rikholi) – staying on the road towards Mussoorie.
From the NCR, it is a driving distance of around 280 kms – a convenient drive which you would cover under 6 hours. Your route will take you Delhi – Ghaziabad – Muzaffarnagar – Deoband – Dehradun. On reaching Dehradun, go via Ballupur Chowk – Garhi – Kimadi Lambidhar Mussoorie highway.

What formalities are required during our stay with you?
What is the check in and check out time?
Our check in time is after 1300 hrs and check out time is by 1100 hrs.
Is smoking allowed in the accommodation?
All our rooms are strictly non-smoking. Ash trays are provided outdoors for smoking. A sanitization charge of Rs.2,000/ will be billed, should you smoke indoors.
How many persons can your accommodation take?
We offer three rooms – Deodar, Chir and Sal. Please see the section Your Accommodation for more specific details on each of them. Deodar and Chir can accommodate two adults plus one additional adult / child using an extra bed. Sal can accommodate two persons. Our tariff includes charges for two adults and one pet, with supplements for additional person/s and pet.
Is parking available?
Yes, we have adequate safe parking within our premises.
Do you provide toiletries, bath towels etc?
We do provide toiletries like shower gel, shampoo, soap and towels.
Is the accommodation air conditioned?
No, being at 4,000 ft, air conditioning is not necessary. We have fans is each room and radiator heaters during winters. Generator back-up is provided.
Do you have wi-fi connectivity?
We offer free wi-fi connectivity via Jio Dongles which are provided on arrival. However, since we are in a valley area, the signals are not hi-speed. Your understanding is appreciated.
Are meals included in the tariff?
Our tariffs are inclusive of breakfast. You have the option of ordering your lunch, dinner and snacks from our In-Room Dining Menu. Meals are served either in your room or outdoors.
What type of cuisine do you serve?
We offer vegetarian and non-vegetarian North Indian options. Given our location, away from the city, our menu is not extensive. However, your Host will be as accommodating as possible in cooking something of your liking which is not in the menu.
Can we cook our own meals while there?
No, we do not have any such facilities.
Is alcohol available with you?
We do not serve alcohol. However, you can carry your own as per State Government regulations and consume it in your room. We do not levy any corkage. Glasses, ice bucket will be provided. Please do note that loud music is prohibited.
How many pets can I travel with?
Our tariff includes charges for one pet per room. Each room will take a maximum of two pets ( supplement cost for one pet applicable).
Do I have to pay any other extra charges for my pet?
No, there are no additional charges for one pet per accommodation unless you order any meals while there.
Do I need to carry the food for my pet?
We have a WAGS Menu which offers freshly prepared meals for your pet at nominal charges. However, please carry any specific pet food that your pet is accustomed to. Sanitized food and water bowls are provided by us.
Is there enough outdoor space for my pet?
Yes, there is huge open space available within our premises for your pet. In addition, there are paths on the hills just outside the main gate, which could be a wonderful walking experience for your pet.
Where do I take my pet to relieve him / her?
As a courtesy to pets and parents who will stay after you, please take your pet outside the gate, a little away from the room to relieve himself / herself at frequent intervals.. The immediate garden is NOT to be used for this. There will be an additional cleaning charge of Rs.2,000/ should this happen.
Are there any other resident pets on the property?
When occupied, each of the three rooms could have their own pet. Please keep your dog on leash when other dogs are around. Once outside the gate, you may come across one odd dog on the road side – they are harmless.
What else can I do with my pet while with you?
The idea is to get away and spend quality time with your pet in open surroundings. You have large open areas to play with him / her; go for walks in hills next door; or then just relax in the calm and serene surroundings. We also have some other sport activities for the pets.
Can I leave my pet behind for a couple of hours if I go out on my own?
Yes, as long as he / she is left inside the accommodation. Your Host will gladly keep an eye on him / her during your absence. However, we do not take any responsibility for the behavior of your pet in your absence.
What else can I do while at A Dog’s Story?
We are in safe and open surroundings – nothing better than long walks and strolls with your pet. While they can be left open, we recommend their being on a leash.
Are there any sightseeing options?
Mussoorie, also known as Queen of the Hills is just 10 kms ( 40 minutes) from here. You could do an interesting day trip from A Dog’s Story, stopping at the Nag Mandir en-route. There are also interesting hikes that can be arranged, example – to Hathi Paon – depending on your preference. You could also drive to the haunted Lambidhar Mines ( 5 kms / 25 minutes). And yes, a drive into Dehradun would be an added attraction. Your Host will be glad to assist further.
